music: what it is to burn cd/finch

went shopping today. bought 'what it is to burn' by finch. i was tossing up on whether to buy their new album or not but i decided on their old one. it's gooood. but i want 'say hello to sunshine' too. and rufio's album - mc...xxx or something or the other. not the 'comfort of home' but their old one. yep. the one that says '1985 in the title. glad i bought it.

ooh, and another funny happened when i was out. my friend was supposed to be visiting her brother at his boarding school but he rang her the night before and said he had an asthma attack and she shouldn't come. and guess what? we - me and some other friends - think we saw him. muahaha! now she's pissed. we're faiting for the lowdown - to confirm whether it was really him we saw. muahahaha!

music: some shitty stuff from next room ... arrgh!

there's so much that has happened since the last time i wrote. i went to china - and back again. the world decided to have a fucking pms attack - oh ... kay ... maybe not. but still, there is so much in this world that is so unnecessary. good for the g-8 summit (group 8). hopefully they can do something. but poverty, in my opinion, can never be entirely banished. not really. isn't hong kong spending millions on building a new disneyland - just for the sake of profit? i'm sure that money could have been put to better use. i read somewhere that the cost of building eurodisney would have been enough to eradicate poverty (at least maybe reasonably?). we see these images and we (most of us) think "that's so sad." and then we turn around and indulge ourselves in the latest fashions and trends. i'm not saying above this because i'm not - books, cds oooh! - but if only, if only. at least ... 'make poverty history'. and linkin park played at live 8. ^_^

which leads to the london bombings. it's horrifying. such an anti-climax to the joy of the olympic hosting in 2012. and now, the death - manslaughter - of that guy - Jean Charles de Menezes. Just because some parts of the world decide that they are going to go on a killing spree - and may god forbid them finding more places to 'spree' in - that doesn't mean that the rest of the so-called 'better' or whatever nations need to follow. this is so freaking --- annoying. it's stupid. it's brainless. it's idiotic.

and the egypt bombings. where else are they going to bomb!? australia!?

well actually, that's only sooner or later ... i mean, australia does have a tendency to follow the 'bigger' nations *cough* america. australia has never really had the willpower to find its own - WWI was a complete England lapdog and WWII - whatever country is was - britain again, i think? now this 'war on terror' what can i say but u.s?

if only...

if only so many things could be (or not be) ...

music: some stupid game bg song

mood: happy

omfg, my eye hurts. must have scratched it. damn.

i went ice-skating for the very first time today. sort of like rollerblading but harder. but it was pretty good - considering i have not looked (or tried) on my rollerblades for 4 years. i feel once because i was going wa-ay too fast and trying to dodge this kid. eek. but it didn't hurt.

when we came back none of us wanted to go to chapel or dinner so we skipped chapel and hid in the music block. but, just as we thought that we were going to skip dinner successfully, the REV. found us. it was absolutely horrible. lina made up some crap with fran being homesick and stuff. and then we ranted on about periods. random. but thank god it wasn't the house mistresses. it would have been bad considering the whole fireworks incident.

anyway, we came back. had a lovely talk about stuff. like who in our group would be the most likely to smoke, go high, have sex first etc. very enlightening - and i found out some stuff about my friends...

but to dampen an otherwise ok day ... i have a friggin' science test and music duet 2moro. i'm so stuffed. since i've only practiced with my partner once/twice if you count the 10 minutes we had in our teacher's room.

i swear i am so screwed.

music: mix

mood: tired

w0ot w0ot ... leaving for hk in 5 days! i've got so much stuff i need to buy but the thing is, i don't like shopping that much. i mainly need to buy music cds and a guitar. electric or acoustic? both? i'd love an electric but it might be hard to setup, and sort of inconvenient. i dunno.

anyway, one of my friend's - norris - is majorly crushing on one of the guys we met at fireworks - the msn jerk's friend. and another one is obsessing over msn jerk. and of course, everytime she rings him, she passes the phone to someone and expects us to speak to him! geez. everytime you mention him, she's all giggles, blushes, smiles etc ... all that stuff when you're crushing on someone. and the thing is, i haven't had a boyfriend yet. sigh. i did make a vow i wouldn't find one until after high school. that's stupid, doesn't it? go figure.

i think they're sort of a distraction and i don't really think anyone falls in love during high school. i'm a romantic but i'm cynical. does that make sense? i read all these high school romances - on the best site ever www.fictionpress.com - and i don't believe we can fall in love. my friends go gah gah over a guy, but at the same time they realies the inevitable - that they're going to break up. lina, she's been through heaps - you could even call her a playa - likes this guy, but she doesn't want to tell him because she likes secretly liking him. and she also realies that they're going to break up anyway. it's so sad that romance can be used so lightly and irrelevantly.

so am i a romantic or not?

anyway, i was reading the quickening trilogy by fiona mcintosh. it was pretty good but i swear she's sadistic or something. she's uses people's/character's lives so lightly. she's all 'ok, hmmm... i think i'll dispose of this person and this person and this person.' but she's pretty good but there's that element there that i don't really like - i mean, he killed his sister albeit unwittingly but still...! i thought the same about her previous series. the trinity. yea.

i thinnk i'll go ice-skating. hehehe, cecilia has to do her dare.

fireworks

oh, and i just plain forgot. fireworks night! it was ... uh, interesting.

we were just mulling around outside the boarding house. two guys were watching us - and what do you know - it's the guys Lev invited. yea, the guy i pissed off on msn and his friend. anyway, i spent most of the first hour half hour ignoring them. we went down to the oval where the fireworks - and the rest of the 'festivities' were being held and walked around. saw wendy with her friends, said hi, got FAIRY FLOSS, and cecilia had to rub the whole thing on my sleeve! anyway, we walked back onto the school ground area, saw frankie said hi. parted. we met up with monica and then the guys said they wanted to see the school, at least, i think they said it. anyway, we were up on the third level in the dk block. we were talking and i was just saying it'd be uh, very interesting if we jumped. there was lovely concrete ground at the bottom. then we walked over to the stairs - rickety rusty ones - which was sort of adjoined to the roof, meaning there was a fence-y thing dividing them. i said to cecilia it'd be interesting if we climbed up onto the roof. anyway the guys came over and one of them actually jumpedonto the concrete block next to it. and then - just our luck - three of my housemistresses, hearing us talking walk up. we were in so much shit. they were saying 'we're so disappointed in you.' 'you should have known better'. at least the didn't tell the principal. i would have been dead.

anyway, we played truth or dare - spin the sprite can style. since there were two guys and about 7 girls, it was very very hard on them. lev. had to go nose-to-nose with the msn guy and since it was dark, it actually looked quite romantic. they've got chemistry. but the guy's still a jerk. the other guy - his most funny one was that shar had to sit on him while he did push-ups and go under him as well. it looked sort of - compromising. and what was really funning was that msn jerk called these two girls - i think in yr 4 or something - names and they ran up to him and kicked him and bottled him. i almost felt sorry for him. almost. yea, that's about it. oh, and norris is crushing on msn jerk's friend. he's ok, but still, a playa.
