The last few days have been a little gloomy, because my uncle passed away on August 8th due to skin cancer.  He was a veteran who served in WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, so it's both sad and ironic that skin cancer is what took him.  He lived to be 80, and was surrounded by all of his loved ones when he peacefully passed away.  I wasn't there, but just the thought is sobering to me.  I attended the viewing and the funeral, both which, in my opinion, are hard to attend because it hurts to look at those who are really torn up yet trying so hard to be strong, those who were left behind.  It leaves an impression, and not exactly a joyful one.  It's kind of like a little gray raincloud hanging over my head, one that will eventually fade away, but for now it's kind of cast a melancholy shadow over the past couple of days.  I could go into more details about the viewing and the military memorial ceremony, but... well, I'd rather not.

But anyway.  On a lighter note, today marks the first day of my last week at Target.  I have Tuesday and Thursday off, yay~.  However, on Tuesday, it shall be a campus day, because I have to go to school and pay for books and remaining tuition.  Oh, I'm such a broke college student who can't afford stuff like thaaat~. 

But that's pretty much how my week looks right now.  Sooo... there probably won't be an interesting entry until the week after.

Which makes a lot of sense right now, considering I'm just sitting around waiting to go to work.  Whoop de do.  [goes insane... moreso than usual, at least]

Oh well. 

I finally filled out all my work study stuff... now it's only a matter if they'll actually call me or otherwise.  I still have the week of August 21st to do MORE job hunting for just a weekend-ish job, since my mom is so adamant about me working (someplace that doesn't let me go home at 1 in the morning) since it's not a 100% sure thing that I'll get work study.  Here's hoping that I get SOMETHING!

I really wanted to work in a bookstore, and I still haven't given up on applying there.  I think a bunch of ppl in our group have applied at bookstores, no?  What's their problem anyway?  Exactly how much work experience to do you have to HAVE to work at a bookstore?  9_9;  Yeesh, Barnes and Noble, get over yourselves already.

I had this long entry all typed out and then dragid was evil and CLOSED THE WINDOW ON ME! ARRG.  I'LL HAVE IT'S EYES, I WILL! #

Oh well.  All I really said was that the party was fun, even though I had to leave a little earlier than most.  I think we all shared that opinion, though.  (About the party, not about me leaving.  ^^; ) I hope we get to do something fun like that again before school starts up.

Also, I said that I only have to work three days out of the week this week and I've already worked one of them!  WOOT! O_o

However, next week they're going to work me like a dog.  I already saw my schedule and it looks like a 36 hour week.  Eh.  But it'll be my last week (except for maybe having to work the next Sun. and Mon.), so I guess I can suck it up until then.  But for now I'm enjoying one of my days off! Yay!

Also, I found a song from a promotional Pirates CD.  It's called Pirates Remixed and it has all techno remixes of He's a Pirate on there.  I don't know how anyone else feels about techno/trance, but I like these songs, from what I've heard of them.  I'll have to let you guys listen to the one song that I have.

The quote above really conveys how I've been feeling recently.  I don't want you to take that as a bad thing, because I've actually been in a relatively good mood.  Maybe it's just my mindset, but I can see how that quote would make me seem careless about the world around me, which is not quite the case.  I guess it's more like the less-than-eloquent quote "sh*t happens".  Once it happens, it happens, and there's nothing I can do about it.  I can learn from it and there are actions I can take to change it from happening again in the future, but as for that exact moment a certain thing happened... well, it happened.  Life goes on.  So must I.  What spurred this, you ask?  Nothing, really.  Just that quote, and nothing else.  Sometimes I go into these weird philo and psycho drabbles that don't really mean anything.  So dun worry about it. :P

On another note... TAX FREE WEEKEND IS THIS WEEKEND! @_x;; Dammit.  I don't wanna work this weekend... it's gonna be scary.  AND it's the reason why I couldn't get a full Sat. off for Sanzo's party.  >< GRR.  They wouldn't let ANYONE ask off for this upcoming weekend.  EVERYONE has to work.   Blah!

...actually, my last day is the 21st, so I guess I'm getting ahead of myself...

I wish I could just yell "I QUIT SUCKAS!" (that would feel so good), but I need the money.  And like most people, I have to work for it, unfortunately.  Blaaaah.

Oh well.  Like I said above... what happens happens. 

Randomly, I got a new Bleach figure... and guess who I got?  Captain Aizen! @_@;; EBIL!  But he still gets a place next to Byakuya, Hitsugaya, and Urahara.  I want a Hollow-Ichigo one, but I'm never lucky enough to get it.  >< In Arlington, they sell one... for 30 bucks.  Haha.  I don't want it THAT much.
