bleh.
So my yesterday was mainly spent walking around.
My mother, sister, and I walked up the street to Borders just to look around. I ended up buying Dave Barry's Greatest Hits and Reiko the Zombie Shop volume one. I began reading my Dave Barry book last night, but didn't get too far since people love bugging me.
Also, out of the blue, Aiydan (a guy I met through Game Keeper) IMed me again. Been more than a year since we last talked. So that was totally awesome.
Today, I have to make sure my parents submit my check to Chase Bank for my credit card bill and then I work a 5 till close shift at work. Though I forget who I am closing with.. ought to be fun.
Well I should really take a shower and I'll probably get in atleast two hours more on a video game.. later. ^^

Since I didn't update this about Anime Punch:
So Anime Punch..
It was interesting. Kinda reminded me of Ohayocon 2002.. you wandered around, had random chats with people in the hall. The best one was talking about Bad Anime with people and making fun of those animes. We did a lot of wandering that weekend and even caught some stuff in the video room.. but also spent some time watching anime on the DVD player in the room. If it wasn't against the hotel rules and I had an RF adaptor for my player.. I would've turned our room into a video room.

Drew forgot his yellow slip and replay certificates.. and I brought my pay stub in to see if I can still get my employee discount there.. which I could, so I got Gankutsuou disc one with artbox since they had it and Yugo the Negotiator volume one.. and then we went to the food court. Drew ordered a Blueberry smoothie from Orange Julius, but had his hopes crushed when they were out.. so he got the Tropical one the girl suggested. Then we had an interesting conversation with the Sbarro guy who apparently says he's been there for awhile. He said after awhile you get tired of eating what you sell, and after so many years if someone says its good.. it's obviously something not on the menu. So we had pizza and went home. This mall even had a Babbages! Awesome!
On the way back Drew was telling me of a movie called Talking Head.. definitely have to check that out.. sounds like an interesting one.
Also yesterday, I went out with Brian and got a frame for the picture of Amon I got Crispin Freeman to sign for Joann.. we have to do that for Renee's as well. And we watched Maburaho disc seven which I got in the mall earlier.
For internet orders.. I'm now just waiting on a Cyborg 009 which I bought off a seller at Amazon.. and I put $537 on my credit card for taxes which I had sent out finally yesterday.. way to me to leave that until the last possible day. I have a payment due to my credit card tomorrow. And then next pay day I have to mail out my other credit card's payment.

You gotta feel the dance. It's always in your heart.
So I lately just started playing off where I randomly stopped on Final
Fantasy X.. almost like a year since I last played it. I beat Sin and
Seymour just by having Yuna summon Anima.. easiest fights ever. I have
yet to officially beat it, since I am debating whether or not to do
sidequests still.
Also, I still have my Tales of Symphonia to still play on my Gamecube..
I took a break from playing it for like an hour or two each day.
Some of my ebay parcels finally have started coming in.. as I got
yesterday two of my doujinshis and today had my Sailor Moon: Sailor
Stars Box Set. I'm still waiting on another doujinshi from Japan, an
FMA plush set that is shipped from California, my Evangelion S2 Works
CD set, and Parasite Eve from my PS1 (which I have NO clue if it has
been shipped or not yet).
My mother also picked me up a bottle of ramune and a FMA card game theme deck randomly. So I thanked her for them.
And I plan on soon just taking pictures of my room, just to show people the mess I have. ^^;
Convention wise (first time since Otakon of 2005): I'll be going to
Anime Punch in Columbus, Ohio around like March 31st - April 2nd. Also
for Otakon this year, I have two options - Go with the guys I normally
go with or go with Drew and his friend. So that's shapping out to look
like some fun planning. I still have to pre-register since they just
opened registration. Can't wait for Otakon. My favorite con.

Oh yeah..
Some of Musicland's companies are being liquidated..
They got rid of Media Play as a whole.
Also some Suncoasts and Sam Goodys are being liquidated..
So far, my job is still in tact. We were put in a new district and are
doing alright. Hopefully there won't be anymore closings.. but we'll
see.
Outside of the job..
I've been feeling good. Joking around with Paisley on the phone,
playing video games, and watching anime. Other than that, not much.

I gotta see more.
So, I still haven't watched a lot since my last post.. but I did pick
up Maburaho disc three (two weeks before street date ^^) and Chrono
Crusade disc one.
I have always wanted to see Chrono Crusade.. and had two episodes of it
fansubbed before it was licensed. I didn't know if I wanted to pick it
up, but everyone I talked to about it said it was really good.. and I
even have read that Greg Ayers really liked it and said he loved doing
the voice work for his character Chrono.. so I finally caved. All I
have to say is, it has been pretty hard to resist picking up disc two.
The artwork is very well done, the story has a good feel to it.. it's
worth a check out.
Anyways, last night I was out until 5 AM.. me and 6 of the guys from
the group went out for dinner at Baker's Square. I got chicken strips
which are always good.. then I had started off with a root beer, then
was randomly given a sprite, then was given a coke for the third
refill.. but our waitress was pretty cool and stuck between two large
groups.. so I didn't mind. Then we went over to Heather's apartment
where we watched TV and just joked around. Heather went to bed around 2
- 2:30 AM, and Brian and I went to his house and I got to see three
more episodes of Yakitate Japan ^^' Ah.. I love that series. Then I
went home and fell asleep.
Today, I get to work 4 PM - 9:30 PM.. and I believe we are still on red alert for our secret shopper.
And I just got an email saying my Slayers Next box set was dropped off
at the post office and will be sent to me within the next 3-6 business
days.
Otakon is now like less then two weeks away... I can't wait! I'm totally stoked!

Looking forward to Otakon!
Well, an update here? Le shock.
I've just been updating at my Live Journal.
So work's still going good. They started like three contests and are
really trying to push us to raise numbers. The bottom five stores in
each of the categories will have to report a plan of action to all the
store on their conference call, and follow up on the progress at each
conference call. Also, the store manager will have to work two Sundays.
Kinda harsh, and taking it out on the managers. But other than that,
work's fun. Wilda will be back next week I think, since she had her
baby and is ready to come back. Within that time, Olivia will be going
on maturnity leave. So that'll be interesting.
I'm still looking forward to the Baltimore Otakon trip. We'll be
leaving Thursday August 18th and coming back Sunday August 21st in the
late evening. It's around a ten hour drive, but is worth it. I'm going
to be trying to meet up with some of my internet buddies if they get to
go. So that'd be really cool.
And since it's an anime con.. I have been trying to watch a lot of
anime. This is what I've watched so far, since starting Mid-July:
All of the first series of Full Metal Panic - Most excellant series. I highly recommend it.
The Meiji Era boxset of Rurouni Kenshin - It's better than half of the
Wandering Samurai Set, it has multiple storylines that flow together..
and was pretty good.
The first 20 episodes of Nadia Secret of Blue Water (need to get
collection 2 real soon) - It's much better when you're awake and not
trying to attempt watching it at 2 AM and dead tired. It does move kind
of slow, but I really got into it to see where the story lies. It's a
good tale and I really do like the characters. They also use that
sneezing and then feeling like someone was talking about them bit. Haha.
Magical Play (AKA Mahou Yuugi) - It's a two disc set ADV released. I
saw it at an Ohayocon and remember laughing too much. It's as funny as
I remembered, and is good if you like very random anime. Girls
competeing to be the next Magical Girl.
Comic Party - Thanks to whenever Right Stuf makes DVDs, when loading
them in my players.. they play the Japanese Subtitle unless I change it
in the menu. I am a dub enthusist.. as I do enjoy them. But this one I
was glad to see subtitled.. the character of Keishi in it is
histerical. The anime is about a guy who gets brought into the world of
Doujinshi. He learns how to draw it, what's popular, the selling of it
at Spot and Exibiton sales... it's a very good series for only four
discs. Most 13 episode series that I've seen have turned out to be
really good series. Plus on top of that, you get it cheaper.. so hey,
you win.
Steamboy - It's by the same guy who did Akira. It's the story of a boy
who is part of a family where his father and grandfather are famous for
their science in steam. This group comes to the house looking for the
Grandfather doctor steam, but he's not there.. yet the boy has a piece
of equipment and plans.. so they try to take it. The boy gets kidnapped
and taken to their building where he meets up with those in charge..
and I won't spoil any more. It's not even a good description, as I
usually suck at giving them.. but the artwork is very very good. The
story as well was most excellent, but some people I've talked to said
the theatrical piece felt like there was more cut out, and laughed at
the only problem I had with the story. ^^;
Yakitate Japan - I've seen the first 24 or 25 episodes. This series
isn't licensed and is fansubbed, available for download. It's a story
of a boy who wishes to make bread for Japanese people.. so good it can
be called "Japan", since there is no "Japan bread". I never saw myself
ever finding an anime about making bread and loving it so much. It's
just got a good story that flows really well, along with the
characters.. I can watch three episodes, and only thought I watched a
single one. Also, what's hilarious is the reaction when they eat the
bread. ^^;;
There's still more I have to watch and check out. I want more of
Yakitate!, but have to wait until my friend has enough episodes to burn
me another DVD. On top of that, I have Boys Be which I borrowed from my
friend Todd.. I've seen half the series almost a year ago, so I
borrowed it to rewatch it and finally finish it. Then I also have all
of the Saber Marionette series. I have an Ultimate Box Set autographed
and numbered out of 8,000 by the creator.. and it contains J, J again,
and J to X. It's 14 discs in 7 cases, and comes to almost 24 hours of
anime. Also, I picked up Saber Marionette R so I can just watch it all
straight through.
Also, my work place gave me disc one of Galaxy Railway, disc one of
Kodocha (which I have the first 51 episodes fansubbed on DVD.. I just
wanna see how FUNi did the dub), and disc two of Baki Grappler to
sample. Since we don't have a DVD player at work to play them in
store.. they are up for grabs with the employees, so I got those.. and
I have the disc one of Gunslinger Girl and Burst Angel as well. So free
DVDs are nice to get.
As well as more DVDs.. I got myself a set of Musashi and Koijiro Pocket
Monster figures.. they were cheap and such great characters, so I had
to get them. I have a set of Pinky Street Evangelion figures. ^^; And
Paisley is planning on sending me a package.. so yay! Stuff!
Now onto today..
I just sat around the house watching TV. It's my second day off in a
row.. so I'm enjoying it. I plan on going out to get a hair cut
tonight, and then go to my work place. I am getting Chrono Crusade disc
7 for my friend Jeff (so might as well reserve it to give co workers
numbers).. and paying off my reservation for the Ghostbusters 1 & 2
pack that comes out tomorrow as well. Then I'll pick them up tomorrow,
since I close. I just think it's nice to give my co workers
reservations.

I LIVE STILL!
Okay..
This new Dragid set up I so have to get used to.. even if I barely update here still.
Lately I've just been working, hanging with friends, and bumming around the house.. you know, the usual. Well last Monday and this past Wednesday I had a lot of fun hanging out with my friend Todd. It was good times. Oh yes.. Good times.
Todd went to a convention in Pennsylvania this past weekend.. I was planning on going, but didn't have money for room and thought it wasn't worth just going for a day. So I stayed home. Well, I called him on Sunday to see how he was doing.. and he put me on the phone with Greg Ayers! So that was like awesome, as I was in awe for the day..
Anywho, I work on Saturday.. from 2 PM - 9:30 PM. It's a Replay Day for Suncoasts, so yay! Also, Friday is pay day and Dan will do some spendage. I have two things to special order and to make another payment on my only reservation not paid off in full. I have now like 10 reserved movies and four special orders already paid off. ^^;; I also picked up a bunch more movies.. since starting though, I haven't gotten much anime as I've gotten just more foreign movies or just regular movies.
And yes.. Pais's package is still here. Just waiting for goodies from Australia which comes in like 3 weeks, and a movie which should be into Suncoast in like 2 weeks. It's a decent size box yet again. So going to have to put insurance on it again. I always get her a lot. I can't help it. She's the one that puts up with me the most and is the person I turn to.. so I feel the need to spoil her as much as I can.. even if she says not to. <_<

Going strong.
My friend Jon who moved to Florida two years ago came into town for a
week on Saturday.. so we've been hanging out a lot with the guys.

Just been playing Final Fantasy X more. I'm doing some Side Quests now, because I beat Yunalesca and such. Fun!
Last evening, I hung out with Brian. We finished Princess Nine finally,
we watched 10 straight episodes to finish it. Pretty good ending, but
could've used like another season..
After that, we went over to Heather's apartment to hang out with the
group (Heather, Jacob, Tim, Jaimie, and Paul). We ending up having a
Ponder Circle as well.. the topics were ones Jacob read off of a list
for some college test and we just talked about it and both sides for
fun.
Also, I picked up Saiyuki Reload DVD 1 with the art box and Fullmetal
Alchemist DVD 1 with the tin and OST 1 recently. My mom also got me the
Japanese version of Shall We Dance on the agreement she gets to watch
it first ^^
Well, I work 3 PM till 9:30 PM today.. so I best go shower and get ready.

Allo.
Dan's been doing good.
Working 10 hours this week and next.. hopefully they will increase sometime.
Also, my mother got me The Karate Kid Collection on Tuesday.. kick ass.
I then got myself on Tuesday Sealab 2021 Season 2.. which has been
watched and made me laugh.
Hung out with Todd, Brian, and other Brian separately a few days this week.
Finished watching The Irresponsible Captain Tylor OVAs with Brian, and
watched an episode of the old Captain N cartoon which Brian has three
DVD-Rs formatted with episodes of it. So I borrowed the first disc and
watched two more last night.
I also watched my first disc of Please Twins yesterday, and have been
playing a lot of Final Fantasy X. Nothing spectacular in my opinion.. I
just want to beat it, so I can say I did finally.. and then to see what
X-2 is like.
So many video games, movies, and Anime that I have backed up to watch
and play.. I'm set for awhile, but rest assured more will be added on.
Also, a couple days ago I got another package from Renee which had 3
mangas, a couple anime series, and like 6 Jet Li movies she didn't
want. Awesomeness. I got in the same day too, our order of a manga
special edition. Which made me happy.. and I finally read that one,
just sad that it's the last manga of the series.. I was hoping it to be
longer than 5 volumes. This month the last volume of my other manga I
like (My favorite one I think so far), will be out too.. then it'll
just be collecting random ones or finishing ones I already started..
Work's been fine.
Tomorrow is pay day.
I will be reserving Saiyuki Reload volume 1 with the box in full.
Tempted to pick up a Black Knight plush my store has.. it's arms and
legs come off, which I find hilarious that they did that since it
happened in the movie.
Also.. must pick up a card for Puu's birthday and mail it to her.. I love that girl as a friend, and miss talking to her.
Must also look into sending Paisley's package out soon.. got a pile of
stuff to send her. Once I send that out, another pile will form for her
soon after. @_@; Damn my luck of finding stuff I think she'd like.

I got to talk to Todd and Brian on AIM.
Well, apparently the guys couldn't get the picture of Son Goku signed
by Greg Ayers for me.. because they never bumped into him when they had
the picture.
Well, Jeff did something cool that I owe him for. I got a mp3 that Todd
sent me, that Jeff recorded of Greg Ayers doing a Kaworu voice and then
Son Goku. And what he said was just funny. So I had to upload that to
my Geocities file manager to show some friends who'd find it funny.
Also, Todd doing the Cosplay Idea of going to the con dressed like the
voice actor Scott McNeil went well, as Scott McNeil thought it was
funny according to Todd. He made it on Fans View once in a Rockman
Cosplay Group picture in his other Cosplay, and once dressed like Scott
McNeil.. even had a mini mention in a caption under a picture of Scott
McNeil.. so apparently people thought it was cool.
Pity I couldn't go, it sounded like fun.. but my decision was for the best. I'm really hoping to go to Otakon in August.
Well, I was told Brian has my con goodies.. and there's one thing they
got with my money that I won't get to know what it is till I see it..
so hopefully I'll get my stuff soon.

A mug... OF ROBOT CANCER
Work went well last night, but I brought home the TV remote on
accident.. which I promptly returned this morning before Olivia was
even worried of opening the store.. I got today and tomorrow off.
I'm tempted next check to pick up The Killers Hot Fuss CD sometime...
another thing I'm tempted to pick up is The Slayers Box Set 1 since
it'll be cheap for me.
Also, I picked up the Armitage Lunch Box with the Dual Matrix Movie DVD
and a Todd McFarlene Armitage figure for $6.50 plus tax.. so I'm adding
Armitage Dual Matrix to the for Paisley pile, since I now have a
duplicate copy.. just am keeping the one with my lunch box, she can
have my unopened other copy. She's already seen the OVA and first
movie, so she ought to enjoy it.
So far today besides heading up to the mall to drop off the remote,
I've been bumming around and listening to CDs Paisley burned me and
sent me.. I should straighten my room up more. But we'll see how the
day plays out.
I was told by Brian to expect a call on Friday to confirm some
purchases if they have any questions. I just feel bad because my
list is so general, but hey.. in my collectibles, I'm not picky. Except
for cels as it pends on how it looks for the price and what series it
is ^^;
I also asked Todd if he could get Greg Ayers to sign a picture of Son
Goku (from Saiyuki) for me, if he sees him there at all. I only asked
since he'll be looking out for Tiffany Grant to get her autograph for
Paisley.
Now thinking about makes me think I should get my signed pictures of
Tiffany Grant and Jessica Calvello framed and hung up.. which I am
thinking of seeing if I can fit in the pictures of me getting a hug
from them in there, or blowing that up. As those were good con
memories, as they were good sports and were glad to give me a hug when
I asked. It was just "Sure!". And on top of that I have like 8 or 9
animation cels.. and I'm sure I have a few sketches with those cels..
and a fan art commision and such. I might just have to look into
framing them myself, since it'd cost a bunch to have professionally
done like I would like. :/
Also.. next week for work, I'm down to 11 hours a week now, unless something changes. But atleast it's work. ^^

I've just been updating the LJ and GJ.. as I keep forgetting of this one.
Well, I finally got my Ohayocon shopping list ready for the guys since
I'm not going this year.. there's also $20 with a list of things for
Paisley.
Also I might pick her up something else random next paycheck. I got her
the next volume of the manga I've been collecting for herm since she
likes it.
Well I best go, gotta get ready for work (5 PM - 9:30 PM EST), and I got kept on since two co workers are pregnant. ^^;

Work went well, as I worked 12 PM - 6:30 PM EST time. Went by fast..
well the holiday season for work is over.. as I went from working 30
hours this week, back down to 18 hours. *shrugs* Atleast I only have to
work 3 days this week.
I was on the phone with Paisley earlier too, as she was opening the
gifts I got her.. and her parents opened the stuff I got them too.

when she opened my gifts. Tomorrow I have to be up to open gifts with
family.. and then we go over my aunt's house.
My paycheck is already gone, but I will get $100 of it back.. I loaned
my mom $163 for Christmas for stocking stuffers and split the price of
gift cards for relatives with her. So it was all good, as I see the
bulk of it back and she owes me a shipping fee.. so Paisley's next box
is paid for. WHOO.
But I feel good knowing I did a lot for people this holiday season..

Random dreams are okay, nightmares suck.
Well, outside of struggling to drive and almost sliding off the road
and spinning several times in my station wagon, being jumpy, and
extremely nervous the past few days.,. I've been fine. I've been
letting here slide because I update on my Live Journal and GJ.. which I
feel kinda bad about, although I don't know really who reads my posts
or such :/
Last night I struggled to sleep, I woke up twice from 8 PM - 11 PM, and
then was up from 11 PM - 2 AM. I did talk to a couple friends but was
drained and such..
The reason I woke up was two bad dreams I had, which scared me..
The first dream was just like a red toned picture effect and was people yelling at
me, stating opinions of me and criticizing everything I've done. I mean
really, there was even some guy yelling about the time I was in a
foster home. In the dream I tried to plug my ears and curled up in a
ball, but they continued to yell at me, and I was slapped in it.. then
one of the people said "Maybe it's just best if you went away!". With
that, I jerked up in a cold sweat and was just weirded out about it..
then I watched some Raw and drift back to sleep during it.. only to
wake up from another dream.. only this one was with me in Big Red
crashed into a light pole and my body was crashed through the
windshield and all cut up from it.. It was weird because it was just me
watching this happen to the other me that was actually driving, but I
was just as scared.. but when the car wreck happened, I was bleeding in
the same areas as the one that wrecked. Not only was the accident
caused by my lack of handling constantly spinning out on the bad road,
but was me pulling a manuver to avoid a cat I saw in the snow.. so it
was freaky that I died which scared me, but I'm kind of relieved that
the cat was alright, even if it was just a dream. Because I've said
that I will always try to avoid hitting an animal.
I work today 11 AM - 6 PM, hopefully I have a ride home and I should get ready for work...

Self Esteem? What is that?
Well today two things finally brought down my feeling good about myself streak outside of lonleiness.. and that was:
My friend other Brian was in a car accident on Saturday, I just found
out today. His friend Val just got some cuts, Chad got bruised ribs,
and he was fine.. so that's all that matters is that no one seriously
got hurt. The other party was at fault, and left the scene by foot.
Makes it sound questionable.. other Brian got a new 05 Accent, but
still has the other car payment for his totaled car till the insurance
thing is settled.
Then my dad bitched me out today. The muffler in our car is now
dragging and he wanted to take it on the freeway to go out and have me
drive the car home since that's what he do.. well it'd drop on the
freeway so I said he should look to see if he can do something, so
after saying "I whined like a baby about it", he checked it. Then he
came in angry and called me swear names and such since he got something
on it jammed. Saying it was my fault and I should grow up. Well, he
said "You were a mistake. We should've never had you" and "If I was
smart, I wouldn't have had you as my kid". So that had me in tears and
I had enough of being verbally degraded that I retorted about him not
accepting responsibility and such. As it hurts each time he says he
should've never had me.. each time hurts more than the last. He also
sometimes brings up the fact he feels he should've never gotten me out
of the foster system when I was little. I never take shots at his
existance, just his manhood.. or lack there of. Big man yelling at kids
or people who want to avoid bigger troubles.. Ooo.. He doesn't do
anything when he notices a problem until it actually can't be avoided
anymore, unless it's some shops fault and he can get it fixed for
nothing. But he does yell about it.. I'm getting blamed for the
muffler, even if it didn't drop when I was driving it I bet.
But I calmed down and called Todd when I wasn't in tears and we joked
around, and I found the silver lining in the situation and made fun of
it like normal.. I just have to watch myself as I must learn that
everything isn't funny. Then I went out with other Brian to some stores
and to eat. He, me, and my mom ate out at Ponderosa and I picked up
Bourne Supremacy and Dodgeball. I am not driving my dad tonight.. so
he's staying home.. so I hope the car can get me to work, and if it
can.. my mom has to go too so he doesn't yell at me more. As he has
threatened to leave me places before and to kick me out since I was 13
years old.
I need a vacation and need to get away for a bit.. hopefully my summer plan works out..

Just the usual first of the month events..
Yesterday, I ended up driving my mom around to pay her bills, as well
as taking my brother to a couple stores.. he ended up getting a new TV
stand that I'll be helping him put together soon and some Everquest
game stuff. I don't like Everquest because of how I hear some people
just sit there and play non-stop for hours. Yes, I am a Gamer.. but to
sink to the level of doing nothing but sleep and playing one game so
much.. to me is sad. I have yet to ever do something like that..
not sleeping till you beat a game storyline wise is different as you're
trying to beat it, this game doesn't seem to have any point to me.. and
when you play a game, you usually get pulled away. My brother sometimes
gets angry. O_o;
Enough of rambling about my loathing of Everquest.. we grabbed lunch at
Subway and I ended up getting two large hot chocolates during the day.
One was when I first left and put off picking up my brother because I
wanted one, the other was when we walked by again when he was looking
in the mall. We stopped at Best Buy and Walmart as well.
I ended up picking up the Collectors Set of Spiderman 2, Hero, and
Return of the Living Dead 2. I wanted a few more movies when I have
some down time.
Today I work from 1 PM - 6:30 PM. YAY! I have been lucky with my last
two seasonal jobs.. being able to love my job and not have too much
stress.
Also, got a chance to hang with Brian last night.. we watched some
Princess Nine and Rurouni Kenshin DVDs he has. It's been awhile since I
last saw both and was quite happy watching them. If it wasn't for me
being up early yesterday and such which lead to me tiring around 1 AM,
I would've stayed and finished the DVD and tried to get in as much as
we possibly could.
Room is also just getting piled up.. just big stacks of movies, a video
game stack is starting.. and a bunch of miscellanious junk. It'll never
get cleaned.. if I don't start on that. But oh well.
Mom's going to be over at my aunt's all day.. she's helping her bake,
then is going to a Bridal Show with my aunt since my aunt has a
Pampered Chef presentation booth there.
It's already Thursday.. where has the week gone?

TALLY HO!
Been a bit since I updated here..
Let's see.. I started working at Suncoast and I love it so far. It was a bit stressful trying to learn everything.. but everything's going good. And I'm the resident anime guy at the store :D
When someone even had an anime question, Michael (the manager) was like "Ask him, he's the best we have at stuff like that". I've even been handing people links to online sites if they ask for anime soundtracks we don't have and I know aren't released domestically yet. I've taken too much pride in stocking the manga and anime. o_o; Even when we got an Ingram package in, Michael was all "Give that to Dan, as he's been waiting for this".. as it was a manga shipment to stock. I love my work, and got along fine with my co-workers. Pay is only $5.25 an hour, but I love my job and am happy doing it for that wage. Was never an issue o_o; I didn't even know what I was making till I saw my first paycheck.
Let's see.. last week I worked about 33 hours, this week almost 28 hours if the rest of the schedule goes to plan.. and I'm only a seasonal. I take whatever hours I can get :D
I've already had two ten hour days.. and Michael got me addicted to Hot Chocolate from Gloria Jeans. <_<; He treated me to one, and since then.. if I'm wandering the mall or work at 10, I stop off and get one. Oh well.. I love that stuff ^_^;
But the job is awesome, and is really cool when I get to talk anime and manga with people. The only thing I hate is when you run into the people who act like you know nothing or try to one up you. Sure, I'm not a true expert or seen EVERYTHING, but I know about a bunch of series and am there to help or talk about series. Makes it a better shopping experience in my opinion. As it encourages me to go back when I have a friendly conversation with someone who is legitimately passionate about it like I am. Also, is fun talking with fellow convention goers..I was being nickled and dimed literally for pocky and the girl was all "I'm sorry" and we got into how we both end up having to do that at the end of conventions and I got her to laugh. That's what makes it rewarding.
The only other thing I hate is less than 5 hours on the clock.. I had a four hour shift and worked 14 minutes over because I didn't know I was off the clock.. and I felt so unproductive.
Also have been enjoying my discount.. so far I've gotten 35-40% off of everything that I buy in my store. Pends on the department, so that makes up for the wage rate.. but my poor paycheck. Also, right next door is Game Stop. Worst places for me ever. Too much temptation. While straightening, I end up like browsing/shopping too. So if I have any movie out of my budget after movies/anime stuff.. then right next door is video games. But first I must shop for Christmas presents. Got Paisley's birthday gift and her family's christmas gifts out of the way.. now I just have to get something for the friend I drew for our Secret Santa, Todd, Brian, other Brian, and I guess I might get my dad something.
Outside of work.. life's been decent. I got to see the group again for our disfunctional family thanksgiving tradition on Saturday, my real thanksgiving went decent, and I've been relaxing at home.
Today I have to drive my mother and older brother around. But I get rewarded since my mother is picking me up a movie and treating me to lunch. But the station wagon's power steering belt is slipping a little and makes a loud noise constantly whenever I hit the gas. ~_~;
Now I was searching through my room.. got a lot of games. Last night I picked up the Final Fantasy I & II GBA Game and Super Mario World for the GBA. I also not too long ago got an SP, but I may save up for a DS and give my mom the SP, then Paisley will get my GBA. ^^ Also I got Paisley Origins and Chronicles.. almost have gotten her all of the Final Fantasy PSone games. I also noticed I now have three Eye Toys (I got the Eye Toy, then Eye Groove with the Eye Toy, and AntiGrav with the Eye Toy).. coolness :D
I've been enjoying life and have been happy since I started working.. I just hope it works out this time.. or atleast the store doesn't close. Speaking of stores closing.. Waldenbooks here in the Great Lakes Mall is closing. Well.. means going to just Suncoast or Borders for manga. But atleast Mangas are 15% off there.. I don't know what discount I get off manga at work yet.
I should take pictures of my uber messy room.. as it is cluttered, as I have a lot of junk ^^;;
I also have to get my VCR's to cooperate with me as I do have VHS's to copy for people.. and I still have some anime to burn to CD for Paisley.
I guess that's it for this update..
......I really could go for a hot chocolate right now...and the mall is open...hmnn...
